I was born in 1966 in a very small town, Reivilo in the Northern Cape, was raised on a farm and moved to Potchefstroom in 1982 and matriculated in 1984. I then joined the family business and joined the SADF for 2 years. I studied at the North-West University and received my degree in BCom Accountancy in 1992. I completed my Accountancy articles at an Auditor firm in Potchefstroom.
In 1993 I opened my own Accountancy Practice in Potchefstroom and registered with the SAIPA (The South African Institute of Professional Accountants) as a Professional Accountant in Practice.
I was a member of the North-West District SAIPA regional office for 15 years and Chairman for 9 years. I resigned for 4 years and was reappointed as District Chair of the North-West District Association (SAIPA) in 2019. (NWDChair@saipa.co.za)
I was a member of the SAIPA Board at Head Office for 6 years where I was on several Board Committees, Finance Committee, Disciplinary Committee.

I am a member of The Rotary Club of Potchefstroom Mooi and was President for 3 years.
